I look forward to the summer months. At work, August is my slow time and I get to relax a little. I also start to realize that the summer is too short and before you know it fall will be here. While fall is a beautiful time of year in Canada, it's also the time where I start to get busy at work. Long work hours are soon to arrive, don't leave me summer!!
Here are a few stone coaster to add to our decor to remind us of the summer sun! My favorite is the one that says "Beach Please" I love going to the beach in the summer. Well, maybe in the coldest months of winter too.

If you enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning, why not enjoy it with colorful and clever stone coaster? I've curated my favorite coffee-themed coaster below.
I am new to drinking coffee. I started drinking the delicious cups of joy while on vacation in Cuba. My husband pretty much forced me to drink a cup in order to stay awake so we could watch the night show at the resort. I did stay up for the show, and laid awake for the next three days. I am sensitive to caffeine but I couldn't stop drinking it. I was hooked. If you've been to Cuba, you know that they know how to make a good cup of coffee. It's hard to match the taste at home. Here are a few tips I've learned on how to make a good cup of coffee. Use coffee beans and grind them yourself. Believe me, it's worth the effort. You need to grind them into a soft powder in order to get the strongest coffee taste. Explore different coffee brands, try to purchase 100% Arabica beans. The higher quality the bean, the better the coffee. Avoid softened or distilled water. This gives the coffee and off-flavor taste. When you are new to making coffee it's tough to find the perfect coffee to water ratio. I like my coffee strong. For a full pot I will use 6-7 coffee spoons to a full decanter of water. I purchased my coffee maker from Tim Horton's, it's a Bunn coffee maker and one of the best.
Sorry, I couldn't resist the play on words in this blog post title.
Here is a collection of adorable otter-themed stone coasters to "cute up" your living space. Before you check out the collection, here are some fun facts about otters according to The World Wildlife Fund 1. Otters are a keystone species. Keystone is a term learned in most biology classes, ea otters have a HUGE impact on their ecosystem. If sea otters disappear it has an effect on other species in the environment, potentially causing an ecosystem collapse. Sea otters control the urchin population which subsequently impacts the sea kelp population. 2. Sea otters hold paws while sleeping 3. Sea otters need to keep a clean coat of fur, this helps them to keep warm through air absorption. 4. Sea otters eat 100 different types of prey, they eat between 25-40% of their body weight daily. 5. Due to the fur trade, otter numbers have dwindled to just over 100,000 world wide. 6. Sea otters are one of the few animals who use tools to eat their prey. |
